This volume (first published in 1996) covering the 1974 to 1978 period has now been updated to form a second edition. Principally these changes are additions or amendments to Formula 2 entry lists particularly Japanese races, and also chassis numbers for South African F1 races.

In this era, motor racing was changing. Television was making an increasing impact on the sport and in due course the needs of the fan at the track would take second place to the needs of TV. Sponsors were coming increasingly into the sport feeding a general increase in costs and the virtual disappearance of the non-championship race as teams and drivers no longer needed a bit of extra money. Mr Ecclestone was also becoming an increasing force in the sport.

At 409 pages the book contains, for the majority of races, full statistics including entry lists with starting numbers and chassis numbers of cars. A starting grid and full results are also included together with a brief description of the race. All races run to Formula One and Two regulations, however minor, have been included.
